Will explain the settings.

Note: as you are both on the same LAN you will need to use the IP address of computer you are connecting to in the remote log on settings.

Click start then run. Type MSTSC This will open the remote dektop application. Type in the name of the ip address of the machine you want to connect to and click connect. You will then be asked for a user name and password.
