Do squatters have rights in Passaic, NJ? And if so what are they?

Yes, the right to be evicted and thrown off the property, in a legal and humane way.

In Allegheny co Pa. The adverse possession law is you have to openly live on/tend the land with no one challenging or claiming it. Paying taxes on the land helps to if nobody else is.
You have to do this for 7 years. In New Jersey from what I have read it is 30 years.

This for the most part applies to places like vacant lots adjoining yours because if you just walk into a vacant house you will be grabbed for trespassing. In some circumstances it might work for a building like if the owner died and said you could live there as long as you wanted and nobody else came to claim the building.
