Aww kids say the most hurtful things sometimes! I was looking after kids in a playscheme when I was about 17 and a 4 year old told me I wasn't allowed to wear a bra because my breast weren't big enough! Probably was repeating what her mum told her but I didn't think like that at the time.

curlybenswife
Sep 17, 2007, 08:49 AM
Hehehehehe she loves pianos and says it so well at the moment she makes me draw them and pretends to play soon she will have her own I seriously need to get her new room sorted so I can get all these toys up stairs lol
startover22
Sep 17, 2007, 08:52 AM
This may sound funny... We don't have many toys, I mean blocks and lincold logs, tons of books, that sort of thing, there are so many kids in this darn house that they kind of keep each other occupied. Millie may decide to ignore her toys when Theo comes... that is what happened to Grady and Davy... and Jett... Now all three of them can sit on their buns and make lego towns... I just love those nights when they sit there for a couple maybe even a few hours to get it just perfect... I am way off subject but it popped into my head! Hugs...
curlybenswife
Sep 17, 2007, 09:03 AM
Millie isn't a player she never has been she is a thinker she loves books and drawing we sit for hours together like that even when we go to groups she sits and watches them all or sits with all the books she isn't interested in noise or animated play she likes doing thoughtfull things she signs all her words as well as speaks them at the moment she is into music and loves to plat with the piano at mimmys so my mum suggested she have her own this is her last birthday on her own we are going to enjoy it and make the most of it I couldn't care less if she never plays with any of it again lol just the enjoyment of the day will be enough.
alkalineangel
Sep 17, 2007, 09:08 AM
Lol... Connor is the same, he would rather sit and sing along to his radio or color, but I felt the same as you CBW, it was his last year alone, and I want it to be special..
LOL... I play the piano, so he has been on it since he was old enough to hold his head up. Once I get him trained on his notes and scales, I'm hoping he will pick an instrument he wants to play. My hubby plays sax, and Bass, and I play guitar off and on. The best thing about teaching your child piano, is that once they learn it, they can pick up any other instrument and learn it quickly... I think she will love it.
Tuscany
Sep 17, 2007, 09:11 AM

curlybenswife
Sep 17, 2007, 09:11 AM
My hands were never big enough to learn to play anything I couldn't separate my fingers enough so I'm really hoping millie doesn't have the same problem I certainly will be encouraging her with the piano all of bens family are musical.
alkalineangel
Sep 17, 2007, 09:19 AM
There are exercises that can improve the finger span... but with a musical family, IM sure she will find her place then... I think music is the best gift we can give our kids, regardless of whether they play it or sing it... or just like to listen... :)
Start - we used to do a christmas of giving handmade gifts... I try to do this still with my siblings...
startover22
Sep 17, 2007, 09:22 AM
Yes, but the kids like the bought. I think I am going to do handmade again this year and then Dus and I will have to make a limit for the kids... Thanks.
I got a piano for free on craigslist... it is so cool, all of the kids touch it daily, no lessons yet, but we will see. Max wants to play the guitar, harmnica, or the trumpet. He is four... he is a wonderful singer and he sings with his mom all day!
alkalineangel
Sep 17, 2007, 09:31 AM

Sep 17, 2007, 09:34 AM

I think they have someone that may be able to work on it.
I've been reading the series since 1990. 11 books out (12 if you count the short novella "new Spring") and the next was to be the last. I know that averages out to be 1.5 years between books, but I know of a couple times I waited 3 years for a new book.
It just makes me sad... the man had a really brilliant mind.

I think it is possible. My sister is a writer and she has ghosted some work for a publisher that the writer either gave up on refused to finish. I think it would be in his contract whether they could develop any unfinished work.

The one thing that does bother me right now is not being able to take my laptop with me. I get so darned bored in hospital beds. I plan on letting them do the tests and then get the heck out. Don't even plan on chemo or any other therapy. I don't believe in swapping one painful issue with a more painful treatment just to prolong time without quality. Chery - I am in training right now, so I can't actually DO anything for you but pray. I'm under severe constraints for any kind of spell or energy use.
HOWEVER - whatever faith you are, this Sunday is the Equinox, the beginning of Autumn. A lot of people think of that as an end time, but it's NOT-- it's a time for change and renewal. If you can, sit yourself down in the sun on Sunday and count your blessings--they tend to multiply as you count them.
If I could be there to help you, and to hold your hand while you are going through this difficult time, I would--in a heartbeat.
Please let me know if there is anything at all I can do to help you. Sometimes a phone call to an almost-stranger can help, because they have no preconceived ideas of "you".
May the Lady ease your sorrow, and may the Lord hold you in his arms and comfort you.

Another main german city 15 minutes away on the Autobahn, is Kaiserslautern. Here's a link to the US Community Newspaper from there. It will let you know what's going on in the area.

I was worried J would be the nurse in my hospital room... lol.. shed come in an smack me in the face "slow down!!!" LOL... instead I got the nurse who liked to use baby terms like "pee-pee" and "owie" I wanted to smack her.
Thanks Chery - Hugs from here as well... you need it more I think. :)
