Has anyone ever experienced heavy or excess discharge during their pregnancy? My period's not due until next week but I've been having some cramping and my discharge is extremely heavy. No odor, no itch. It actually feels like I have a light flow the way it kind of gushes out. Im sure every woman knows the feeling when you sit down too long while on your period and when you get up you feel the flow. That's how this feels but it is definitely not blood. It mostly happens in the early afternoon and kind of tapers off toward evening. I have never had anything like this happen to me before. I thought maybe it could possibly be an early sign of pregnancy. I AM sexually active with my husband we were trying for a while but recently decided to just let things happen naturally. I could also swear that my areolas are darker. Im experiencing the usual pre menstrual symptoms (sore breasts, tender nipples, headaches, irritability), but the heavy CM is just not normal for me. Anyone with any advice or ideas please feel free to comment. Also I know its not any kind of infection or STD.

When I first became pregnant I noticed a lot more discharge before my missed period but my pregnancy ended in a m/c. This can be a sign of pregnancy but is definitely not a symptom. I've also read that while excess cervical mucus after ovulation can be a sign of pregnancy it can also be a sign that you didn't ovulate. The reason being because your body didn't use all of the hormones for ovulation it has excess left over which causes you to have more CM. That is just something I read so correct me if it is wrong. Your symptoms sound like pregnancy but just remember that pregnancy symptoms can mirror PMS and other illnesses. Good luck!

I have had heavier discharge since being pregnant. For me it didn't increase until later in the pregnancy, but every woman is different. All you can do now is wait and see what happens. You may very well be pregnant!

I am 14 weeks pregnant and wear a panty liner most days because of my discharge. The discharge didn't start heavy but became heavier at around 8 weeks maybe. Now it is a hassle to deal with, not to mention gross.

The last time I was pregnant was 21 yrs ago but I do seem to recall a discharge which I thought was very annoying. Is it yellowish in color? Also, do you crave salty foods or citrus fruits? You said your breasts were tender... does that tend to happen every month? Are you getting nauseous at all? Ok, well that's my input. Hopefully this is a sign that you are pregnant this time around. I'll keep my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for you :-) I'll even braid my hair so that it's crossed too. LOL

Thanks tobeamiss: the discharge doesn't really have much of a color its just a lot of it. If I didn't wear a liner the entire crotch of my panties would be wet. There's no distinct odor either. I haven't had any cravings even if I am pregnant I think it's a little too early for that. My period is due in a few days (hoping it doesn't come). No nausea just a little queasiness, headaches, and light headedness. I hope this is it too. I've got everything crossed as well. I have a doctor's appt on Thursday, my period is supposed to come around tues or wed so by Thursday maybe a blood test would show accurately.

Oh yea my nipples are really sore too and I'm getting some sharp pains and throbbing in the boobs. I sometimes get this during pms so I'm wouldn't say its unusual.

My doctor's appt is two days away, I'm so anxious. Technically my period was supposed to start today or I should have at least started spotting but I haven't seen anything except for the excess discharge. My nipples are so sore it hurts to even have my bra on. Im hoping and praying that this is it. I was tempted to take an hpt this morning but I think I'll just wait for the doctor to do a blood test. Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed

I took a hpt the day after my missed period. I was suppose to start on a Sunday and took the hpt on a Monday. It showed a faint line, but it was a line. Actually, all 8 of the hpt's I took showed a faint line. I think typically most people can't tell that soon, but it can't hurt to take one and see. My only symptom was sore breasts. They hurt so bad I had to wear a sports bra to bed every night. Now my breasts are not sore anymore... I was thankful to get rid of that symptom.
I say take a hpt. If it is negative just remember that it could be a false reading because you don't have enough hcg built up yet. But if it shows up positive you will know and all will be well. Best of luck!

I am 8 months pregnant and I have this problem now but with the iching. Go to the doc and see if they can give you something to clear it up. But I do think it's a sigh of pregnancy as your body gos through a lot of changes. Try dinking cranberry juice its meant to help clear up discharge, thrush etc.. I was told this by my midwife:rolleyes:

Today is now Wednesday, I'm getting kind of excited too because I still have not seen any signs of my period coming. I've had some cramping and my nipples have been sore for more than a week but usually pms doesn't last that long for me. I don't want to get too excited though, there was a time last year when my period was almost a whole month late and I was not pregnant so this could possibly be just AF messing with my head. Yes! I just don't know what to think now. My period should have come and it hasn't but the pregnancy test said negative. He told me to come back in two weeks if my period didn't show and take another test. Do any of you guys think there's still hope for me? Like maybe, just maybe, the test wasn't sensitive enough? Or if I wait a week it'll come up positive? Or am I just holding on to false hopes here?

Oh I'm sorry you neva got the result you wer looking for:( , I know how frustraing it can be, with me the slightest day of being overdue on my period and I go 2 buy a test, only to find it's a negative and il prob start my period a day or l8r, its so uhhhh, can't describe what it feels like. Anyway I'm crossing everything I have that's there is a no show of my period this month, just hopefully this'l be the month.

I'm keeping everything crossed for the both of us(baby broody), my doc gave me a little bit of hope, he told me the "symptoms" I've been having (heavy discharge, sore nipples, food aversion) could still mean pregnancy but if I ovulated later than I thought then the test was too early, he suspects that I ovulated last week right before the symptoms started so technically my period isn't late. I'm going to wait the two weeks and see what happens but now I'm losing hope because my nipples aren't as sore as they were before and it makes me think AF is about to rear her ugly head yet again. You may not be pregnant, but here's a glimmer of hope for you. I ovulated right before my af was due and didn't get a positive on a hpt until I was 10 days late. Went to the doc same day, they took a test and after about 10 minutes they finally got a very very faint positive. My faint line was on a first response, so there is still a chance. The only symptoms I had was some cramping, so I was afraid to take a test thinking my af was going to come any day. I didn't get any real pregnancy symptoms until I was about 7 weeks along. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. How late are you? If you are pregnant you may not show a positive until 10-14 days late. Until then try not to stress over it. Easier said than done, I know!

Im beginning to think that since I've been known to have irregular cycles that I may still be pregnant its just that I ovulated later than I thought so I'm not actually late yet. Yes when I was pregnant I had all that thick white discharge quite a lot of it like a period flow but you can also get it if you have an infection of some sort maybe a trip to your doctors is the best bet that way you will know what is causing it either way! Fingers crossed it is because you have conceived but if by any chance it could be an infection it will need treatment.

I know that this is not an infection I had a check up very recently and everything was fine. I am married and I'm only intimate with my husband. It has been 36 days since my last period so I'm still hopeful that I might be pregnant. I went out and bought two pregnancy tests but I'm holding out for another week to take one. Im also scheduled to see the doctor again in about a week and a half for another pregnancy test. So hopefully this is it but even if its not I'll keep trying. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress thanks for the advice and good wishes.

No, joannemarie, I understand that sometimes we women get weird infections. I personally used to get BV (bacterial vaginosis) quite often when I was in my teens but that was because of a hormone imbalance (or so I was told) I was also allergic to certain condoms, don't know if that meant anything. But I know that I don't have an infection now. I'm still kind of waiting for AF, no sign of her yet. Some mild cramping but no blood, not even a spot. My nipples aren't sore anymore but I'm getting some throbbing in the breasts, quite painful. I am not seeing or feeling any of my usual PMS symptoms anymore, just the discharge which increased a lot over the weekend. It's just a waiting game now. I'm going to take a test this Saturday before I go out of town. I'll keep you guys posted.

I hope so too :D I'm beginning to get really excited especially now that I'm feeling the throbbing pains in the breasts it's a new feeling that I never had before I'm going to test this Saturday I'll let you know how it goes

Lol I'm quite anxious as well but my husband thinks that we should wait since I'm not having any other symptoms (morning sickness, cravings, swollen breasts) and the doc said to wait two weeks its only been a week since the last test so I'm going to take one this weekend hopefully I'll get my positive right then but it may still not show even if I am. Its hard for me to wait and hubby knows it so he's conveniently hidden the tests from me lol I could go buy new ones but I'll just wait. Only a few more days.

The only symptom I had when I took an hpt were sore breasts. I wasn't sick or anything else and I was only one day late with my period. You might not have any symptoms this soon. Of course I have been lucky with my symptoms.

I'm not really having any "symptoms" just the discharge and the pain in my breasts but other than that I feel completely normal I don't even feel like I usually do during pms which is miserable

Yes I took the test Saturday morning first thing and got a BFN, but I still haven't seen my period I'm still getting cramps off and on but the pain in my boobs has subsided for the most part, and now I have a horrible cold and I just feel icky all over oh yea and I'm still having the discharge heavier than ever don't know what's going on but I will see a doc as soon as I get back home, I'm out of town visiting relatives I might take another test before that just to make sure but at this point I think it's a miss

Your body might just surprise you. With my two oldest I got negative test up till I was ten weeks with them. Remember that some women don't get any of the pregnancy symptoms that we think of as normal either. I didn't have any with the first two except sore breasts and a really thick heavy discharge. Then came the twins and I think I had just a bit of all of them. I blame it on the boy cause with the girls I didn't have any... lol. Good luck hun.

I got another negative test but its okay, I still haven't seen my period, my doc gave me a prescription for clomid but of course I can't use it until I get my period. Im waiting to see the doc so he can tell me something (if I should take a blood test, just wait it out or if he wants to give me another script so I can get my period so I can take the clomid) This is becoming very complicated and my body is being very uncooperative. I just kind of want to give up.

What is clomid?

Clomid is a medication that induces ovulation but I don't think its working for me I still haven't gotten my period and I took another pregnancy test this morning that was negative

Keep the faith hun you still haven't started your peroid so that's a good thing :) I've known women to go three months or more who was pegnant and it didn't show on a test as there wasn't enough hormone produced. Has your doctor given you a blood test I'm sure it would show in that? :) I know how disheartend you must feel not knowing what is going on my fingers are still crossed for you;)

Thanks, joannemarie, for the support, I have a doctor's appointment this Tuesday so I'll ask for the blood test but it seems that my period may be starting. I started spotting some really dark brown (old?) blood last night and its continued today I'm hoping it won't become a full on period and that it will stop by this evening. Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed that this is it. My husband is going away for a few months soon and I'm just hoping that I'll be pregnant before he leaves.

Not heavy but not as light as I wish it was, it seems to be the start of a very light period since the blood is dark I went and picked up my Rx for clomid I'm going to take the first pill tonight since I've been bleeding for 3 days but my doc told me to come in tomorrow anyway to see what's going on

But it will happen just keep your chin up and keep on trying and most importantly enjoy trying :D what is clomid? I have doctors on thur and I was going to ask about it is there any tests you have to have before they prescribe it to you? Let me know how you go on at the doc's.

The doc upped my dosage of clomid since my husband is leaving soon.
Your doc may want to do blood tests to determine if clomid is right for you, it's a drug that induces ovulation but if you ovulate on your own the doc may not want to put you on it.
I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which means I don't ovulate at least not regularly, and I have extremely irregular cycles

My doctor said it was normal and there was no infection. Your just producing more because of the changes in your body.

Hi there hmcglynn yes you can get thick white discharge when your pregnant and also the early signs like tender breasts they look larger bloated tummy that kind of thing!
But it can also come from ovulation if you suspect you may be pregnant it may be worth while taking a trip to your gp and getting a blood test or maybe give it until your due to start and doing a test.

I know it has been several years since you have asked this question, I just wanted to know if you have gotten pregnant yet? I have 3 babies and I am Trying to conceive the 4th. I had my IUD taken out on July 1st and started right away. Now, 3 weeks later my breast are sore, I feel queasy all the time and I have a heavy discharge. I had the Mirena IUD in for 1 year with no period so I really do not remember what PMS symptoms feel like!!
