My husband and I have tried to think of the name of this movie, it's from the 80's, I think. It's about a couple of kids that find an old cabin in the woods and an old man lives there, he has the cabin rigged w/ scary sounds to try to drive away the kids. They eventually become friends w/ the old man and he proceeds to tell them a story about the people that used to live in the house back in the "old western" days, and the family that lived there got attacked by like cowboys and indians or something, anyway it shows a little girl (that used to live there) fall down a hole in the ground while running away from the "cowboys & indians", and she had a locket or something in her hand. It's got something to do w/ old lost treasure, and is set kind of in the woods/wilderness/mountainous terrain. It's probably at least 20 years old and I'm not even sure if it wasn't a "made for tv" movie. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I would greatly appreciate it. It's driving me crazy. We thought the old man that was in it was Sunshine Parker (Road House), and have searched his credited roles throughout his career, just can't find it. Please help! If you know the answer, please email it to [email protected] thanks!

I think this might be "Mystery Mansion" from 1984. Filmed in Oregon. Plot summary from imdb.com states: "Susan and her brother Johnny go to spend the summer with their aunt and uncle, where they discover a map that may lead to some sort of treasure. Susan had been having nightmares about a girl, Rachel, who disappeared in a nearby mansion, now old and abandoned. Eventually, Susan and Johnny, along with their cousin Billy, begin a quest to find the treasure, as well as the answers to Rachel's disappearance. While they are doing this 2 escaped convicts are also looking for the same treasure!" The poster image shows some old coot talking to the kids. Rachel's death took place in pioneer times.
