All the advice above is very good advice (I just couldn’t decide who to rate). One more thing - there is no law, no one waiting to smite you down because you are an ‘adult virgin’ as someone above put it. I like ‘fake it till you make it’. You don’t need to broadcast the fact that you are still a virgin. Put off looking for a partner, work on making friends and the rest will follow.

RELAX. It is great that you are a virgin and to be honest, somewhat irrelevant. I think that your relationship to your father etc. is a big situation, but not insurmountable. If you are attracted to intelligent types (as described by what you like to talk about) the go to the places where these men will be-for instance Don't go to the local bar-they are NOT there.

Perhaps a swap-meet for computers, a reading club, a book club, the museum, the library.

Nice people don't rate you on your ability to kiss, have sex, your virginity status is a bonus! As well.
