Hello and good morning all! I missed all the good jokes I see... oh well... IM am sorry everyone is feeling lousy and having hard days...

My favorite flower is Stella D'Oro Daylillies... or Heather...

For StartOver: I liked to read this when I first quit to see how I was benefitting myself...

When smokers quit, within twenty minutes of smoking that last cigarette the body begins a series of changes.

    At 20 minutes after quitting:

    Blood pressure decreases

    Pulse rate drops

Body temperature of hands and feet increases

    At 8 hours:

Carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal

Oxygen level in blood increases to normal

    At 24 hours:

Chance of a heart attack decreases

    At 48 hours:

    Nerve endings start regrowing

Ability to smell and taste is enhanced

    The first year after quitting:

At 2 weeks to 3 months:

    Circulation improves

    Walking becomes easier

    Lung function increases

    1 to 9 months:

Coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue, shortness of breath decreases

    1 year:

Excess risk of coronary heart disease is decreased to half that of a smoker

    Long-term Benefits of Quitting

    At 5 years:

From 5 to 15 years after quitting, stroke risk is reduced to that of people who have never smoked.

    At 10 years:

Risk of lung cancer drops to as little as one-half that of continuing smokers

Risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney, and pancreas decreases

    Risk of ulcer decreases

    At 15 years:

Risk of coronary heart disease is now similar to that of people who have never smoked

Risk of death returns to nearly the level of people who have never smoked

I am having a really cranky day. Maintenance issues in my apartment, having more of what I hate given to me at work (apparently I'm good at it), Mother's day ALWAYS makes me cranky, and I think I have PMS to top it all off.

And I feel like my words were thrown back at me in that silly "Love Spells" thread.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Recording: 24 hours. I can't say it has been easy, I craved all day yesterday but I feel good, I am surprised.

Synnen, I am PMSing too, it is going to be OK. (I whispered that)
Yes it is thrown at you because I am sure you are good at it.
    Yer

    Sorry let me finish,

Yer day Synnen is going to get better.

curlybenswife, you are the cutest of all. You sure are.
    Have a great day tody...

    alkalineangel,
Thanks for all the great info. Not so good to know what I was doing, but great to know what I am not doing now. Can't wait to run up a flight of stairs.

It is beautiful today here in Oregon. I really want to go to the beach!

Grrrrrrrrrr Hi everyone. In a cranky mood myself (hee hee, sometimes it's fun)

    GREAT INFO there Al.

Startover - how darn proud are you of what your doing. You just keep it up girl. Laugh at it if you can. Just know, it is soooooo worth it. Honeslty, my skin looks different then it did while I smoked. My face looks healthier, if that makes sense. Stay strong.

CBW hope things are going better for you.

    Hugs to Joe and Superfamily.

Chippers you just are my sunshine.

Synnen, okay who's barking at you now. I tried to find the thread but couldn't. I just love you Synnen.

Hugs and grrrrrr to all :)

Thanks allheart, I am trying to do it with a smile on my face. My kids are very nice to me, it should go as planned. Smile Smile Smile!

My husband was grumpy all night, I didn't even talk to him really. I feel bad, but he was really grumpy. No support there. I feel kind of stupid because I took the nyquil. Oh well I guess.

Are you feeling better Joe. The bummy tummy is going around here and I don't want it.

Did you find your cats CBW?

WOOOO HOOOOO deap breaths. I am all right I love that song, I'm all right nobody worried about me, I'm all right...

LOL... Allheart, no one is barking at me. I just gave advice in a thread called "Love Spells", and the girl I gave the advice to didn't like what I had to say at first, then came back later and said practically the same thing I did. Was just kind of funny in a frustrating way.

After your reminder last time, I'll be sure to point out when people are barking at me to you so that you can go in and slap their hands for me ;)

I will have to check out love spells... sounds interesting.

Under Bereavement, there is a poster that I am not sure I can help. Anyone want to try and help her out? Shatteredsoul is her name and I think she is great, just needs more than my advice. I can't seem to word anything right with her.

Max and Jett are fighting I got to go!

Thanks synnen, I haven't lost anyone really close to me or that I thought I was in love with. I know my time to lose some people in my life is coming and I hope you are there to help me through...

Recording: almost 26 hours I think I will survive. I like that song to "I will survive"

Singing actually helped me a LOT!

It's hard to smoke and sing at the same time, and all.

I've had a weird existence, I think, so I kind of know what she's going through. I don't know what to tell her that would help, though :(

Ok, I feel like I am 15 and just getting to know how the world turns... I heard about different stuff and ideas. Do I live in a hole or what? I don't even get the dirty joke my husband and his friends say. I am a woman damn it... I am going to break free... I want to know about everything!! Here I go.

Why don't I know about casting spells? Why? Have I been sheltered?

Start you and Synn did beautful. Boy, I barely made it through that post. The tears for her just kept coming.

But she was so blessed to have a special friend. After her pain leaves her she will be able to smile at the memories once again.

    Just so sad.

    I hate death.

Laura... you need me to come beat someone up for you? I have a pipe wrench, and I can use it!

You know that I'd come baby you if I were closer, honey.

Start... MOST people don't know about casting spells. It's better that way, really! There has been in the last several years though a few TV shows about witches (mostly inaccurate) and that's given a whole generation of young girls a really bad image of what casting spells can do.

I love smoking! I love it, I love it, I love it. I am not sure I will ever change my mind.
Been doing it since I was 14 years, I am 32 now... almost 33. I guess it is time to say good bye, my body and mind want a drag. I will not give in. I will not. Was it OK that I told you how old I was?

Yes that post gave me the goose bumps and tears as well. Thanks for the help, your posts were absolutely brilliant... I thought people would respond along with me, I just couldn't find the words for some reason, maybe because I haven't gone through any of those feelings yet...

You know, Laura, I know someone that was in the mafia, I don't even know his real name. (not kidding) I might be able to team up with synnen and her pipe wrench to help out...
I am in that kind of mood right now anyway. I am still smiling though!1

I think I just lost it in a post. I need to shut up. I am taking deep breaths, this is harder than yesterday...

It's going to GET harder too.

I'm not going to lie to you.

By next Tuesday, you'll be MISERABLE. You'd happily kill someone for a cigarette, at times. YOU CAN DO IT, THOUGH.

I will probably always consider myself a smoker. I LOVE it. I love the taste, the feeling, the whole kit and kaboodle. If *I* can quit, you can quit. I smoked from 18 to 32.

You can lose it here as often as you like. We'll just keep holding you up.

Hang tough girl. If they get to you, get up and leave the computer. Don't let their goofiness make you fall off the branch. You know better than that!!

I still have my open pack of marlboro reds, in the laundry room right by the back door to go out to have a smoke. Synnen, I think I really lost it with a poster, I might have made a mistake, but it is really how I feel and I don't think I had any right to say it. I don't want to say I am sorry, but I probably should...

Thanks. I am going to lose it again I am sure...

    Oh Synnen,

Oh how I will always be a smoker at heart too. Love the little white guys. They are and were my very best friends. Miss them terrible. BUT I REFUSE TO GO BACK. They say that is part of the additiction, the emotional attachment. Sure do miss them. But nope isn't going to go back

    Where is our Laura.

Laura our you sick? Sweetie or upset. Or Sick and upset. Worried.

    Say hello when you can.

    Sending lots of love.

It will get easier... the first 3-5 days are the only "withdrawel days" you have... then the rest of the days are just kicking the "habits"... you know... rolling the window down in the car, pushing your chair away from the table after eating, when a commercial comes on the TV running outside... the habits... it is hard... but after you are past the withdrawel of the nicotene, you will def. have the energy to fight the habit.

Yeah I loved to smoke... or at least stepping outside for a smoke on a pretty day... or taking my 15 minutes outsiode at work a couple times a day... you know... but I love being a non smoker now... Im friendlier and I can actually play with my son without getting short of breath.

Ooops... I misunderstood. Ithought you'd just gotten a little crazy with a post in this thread.

I lose it with people posting questions all the time. I apologize when I know I'm wrong, but sometimes people NEED to have someone yell at them. Not always, but sometimes. And sometimes the sheer density of people makes you just want to rant in frustration. It's all good!

Apologize if you need to, but otherwise let it go. It's life.

I guess, I have been feeling that way for a while. I just wanted to share all those feelings with all my friends here. What are friends for. Sharing. Lol

I found a fly in my fries once before.

Anyway, we all need reminders and support. My goal is to stop all junk food, especially take out.

Hope all is doing well with all of your own personal goals.

I was singing Get In The Ring By Guns and Roses at work, too my so called boss. Anybody know that song?

I am proud of you to stay away from junk. I think that would be harder for me than quit smoking, it is always everywhere, even when you go to a pet store, they have some candy for your convinient last minute purchases. Damn, will we ever win these battles..

You love children. Somebody doesn't. I read this post where this mum is saying she is mad, because her boyfriends guy friend that has been living with them spanks her daughter all the time in front of her. She is not sure what to do about it. I will give you all a link later. I guess with my language today you will not be surprised on how I responded. Hmmmmm.

I love children and I am still not smoking, I guess I needed to dig a little deeper. Maybe it should say I am not smoking but I still love children, or I love smoking and the children are still hanging in there with me... I would love to read the post, bring it on
