Sorry, I cannot find the original question but I am assuming you want to make a name for a group of people wanting to quit - is that right or am I on the wrong track?? Maria

    I'm on page 41...

Quitters Witter Corner works for me... but how about "Support Tree"? It's a tree of all of us, not just the main 5, supporting people who have quit something that they love that's not good for them. Yeah, we have the top branch and all that... but let me tell you, I wouldn't be here on the top branch if it weren't for you on the branches just below me. Plus, I'm keeping seats warm up here!

The only other thing that comes to mind (and keep in mind that I am still waiting for coffee to brew, please) is Laundry Basket Slide.

But... I'm happy with wherever you decide :)

How about the quitter witter's branch society? You know I'm open to my fellow goddesses and newly minted goddesses and of course Joe. Maybe we can include harry so he isn't the token male in the realm of goddesses divine?

Can some one tell me what is it with cats chewing on plastic bags. It's annoying the heck out of me.( I hope you noticed how well I cleaned ithat question up)

    Hi,
    How about 'quitters cornerstone'.
It's a bit deep but in order for something to be built strongly you need a good corner stone inplace or the thing will collapse? We are all each others cornerstone's here.

Just another one for the mix!

I like it Ben gets to choose as he is outside the tree so to speak. Does that makes sense?
I don't feel well. Just let me know where to go (be nice! ) and I will bring my Allheart self there.

    Love to all.

    Title, The wittering quiters corner...

Let me introduce myself and my 3 Lovely Lady's and of course Joe, We came together through my want to quit smoking and have greated each other daily from then on.
There's me I quit smoking then started again and I'm in the process of quiting again...
Then we have Allheart oh my what a heart this lady has she has also quit smoking and is sticking to her guns and remains on the top branch of the quiting tree.
Then there's Synnen She has also quit smoking and proudly remains on that top branch too what a gal she is.
The last Lady but by no means least is Chippers now this lady has quit soda no more caffine filled bottles of pop for this lady and she is also doing wonderfully, if your nice enough she might even let you have a go on the wash basket ride ;)
And of course we have Joe he was meant to quit junk food but he is a naughty boy that needs us girls to keep him in tow.
So that's us why not come inside and say hi you never know you might just make it onto our special tree too.
We are 4 ladys and a joe ready to chit chat and help you on your way.

Moomin what was harder the drinking or smoking? My girlfriend just came from rehab for drinking. Boy I am sooooo proud of her. She looks divine now, so much healthier.

I have to say drinking actually as well. I went cold turkey with both of them (not at the same time! ).
Haven't been tempted by ciggies for a looong time, just the smell of them now is awful!
The alcohol is different but I'm there (or there abouts anyhoo).

My youngest son started it all. While I was doing laundry, he decided it would be fun to ride the clothes basket down a flight of stairs. I heard the WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THEN THUMP THUMP THUMP as he went down the stairs. My heart was in my throat when I heard that. It was almost as bad as hearing your little cherub saying uh oh.
From there the ride became the goddess ride. I forget where wewere in this thread when we talked about it.
It just took off fromthere. It became our incentive to stay on the top branch. And for the new people joining us to climb to the top branch.I hope that explains it for you. After a while it takes on a meaning all it's own.

I wish you the best... I am also in the process of quitting... but, I would not beable to even attempt it without the patch and gum... it does help a lot if you have been a long time smoker... also my Dr gave a new prescription of a medication that has been very helpful for quitting smoking it called "CHANTIX"... hope this helps.

Hugs for every minute not smoking!!

As I am only three days old I think simplicity for someone searching the site would be best. The support tree seems to suggest an area where people can get some kind of sympathy back to them for their plight, whatever that may be and the tree suggests something sturdy and strong and growing. I am definitely rooting for that one (pardon the pun) - MARIA

Yeah... because THAT will work for people with kids and careers.

I'm a proud member of NORML, but suggesting another form of smoking to people trying to cut it completely out of their lives isn't a very good suggestion, Joey.
