    Hi everyone.
Laura I'd go with the guinea pigs, they aren't as fragile as the rabbits are. With Millie being the whirl wind you say she is, the pigs would fare better. That's just my opinion. I'd hate to see tears in that precious little girls eyes. But the rabbits do better in a rabbit hutch out side. We had a rabbit harvey, who lived in a hutch outside and did very well.

Joe, we need to get you up to kick your arse. Our goddess way of getting your attention. I'm not totally sold on giving a man the power of a god, at least not yet.. men and exhaulted ranks go together like oil and water. Besides as we out number you here, we want to keep the power. Test us and we turn into the fates with a pair of scissors.

Syn, I love your words and quiet strength. We each have something to bring to the group here and we each have special strengths. With that we create the balance that keeps us in balance. Although with Laura threatening to kick our arses if we fall off the branch, we would do well to heed her.

Allheart, If you need a stress reducer with mr. heart, tell him when he really gets on your nerves that men can be replaced with a few toys and the local sperm bank. It worked for me when mr. chippers rides my last nerve.(we've been married for almost 13 years and 14 hours with back labor with the first little chipper lets me get away with it) being slightly off center doesn't hurt either. Telling him you need a little support with not smoking right now should sublty remind him about the better for worst part.
Or getting out for a little fresh air by yourself works wonders. I go to the book store and read the gossip magazines. If I ramble on just chalk it up to senior moment or I left the hair dye on a little too long.

Love to all and to all a good night.

Try chewing gum and sucking on hard candy, also brushing your teeth works. Drink lots of water to get the nicotine out of your system. Good Luck!!

I found if I changed my routine it helped.
I had a habit of going for a coffee and having a smoke on the way and on the way back.
Then every time I had to drive somewhere it meant having a smoke.
I started taking an apple or some peanuts instead.
Quitting cold turkey works for some people but I know if I had to say I would never have a cigarette again I would dwell on it too much.
So I look forward to the next event that I can have one. My next birdie on the golf course I will really enjoy.
Luckily I'm a lousy golfer so I probably won't smoke much.
I also quit for Lent a few times. It was easier knowing it wasn't forever but it showed me I could go for a month and a half. This made quitting full time a lot easier.
Whatever works for you and Good Luck

Also, I read in Glamour magazine that smoking is associated with a form of skin cancer. Not to mention it alters your naturally good looks. My mom was in the hospital years ago for a knee replacement. The hospital was cold turkey in no one smoking. She quit and never smoked again. If you have kids who constantly refer to cigs as drugs because of what the hear in school kind of helps too. More so when you gwet a phone call from the teacher telling you that your little cherub said My mom goes out on the porch all the time to smoke drugs. Luckily the teacher had enough common sense to understand that the it was cigs and not the other stuff. That was enough to end my smoking habit then and there. Life is so much more pleasant without the fear my home will be raided. Even then all they would have to do is look at my front lawn and see the cig butts and not the other stuff.
Openning a gym membership didn't hurt either. Knowing I'm putting out money every month and the idea of knowing working out and smoking don't mix well. Even walking everyday helps increase those endorphins (body's natural feel good medicne) makes it easier to beat the cravings.

Right now after these past 2 weeks I'm no longer on the top branch but with thr roots. I'm dteremined to get back up there with you. I bought water bottles and lipton singles. The cherry blossom is the best. I'll be getting back into my routine and back to myslelf a little. My father said it was all right to call him every couple of days and not everyday. (I got the hint). I'm mother henning him and he hates it. So I'm backing off a little. Onxce we get the living will and life insurance all set again I'll feel better. Mom had neither. If he doesn't want me to come live with him, he'll get it done. Which I've threatened to do. Hehe.

Thanks for all you love and support. I felt the hugs you sent.
Like I said to cbw, mom would've liked you guys.

    Love chippers

Oh Chippers, you have to allow yourself a little lapse time - So forget about the getting on the top branch for now.

As far as Dad, the one thing I learned from taking care of my Dad and Pops in law, was the need some sense of being in control. For years they told us what to do, and now, slowly the roles are changing every so slightly, and it is very hard for them, especially Daddies.

I would make a suggestion, like Pops you really should eat... "I don't want to eat NO|" he would say. I would say, okay, and just come back at him in a little while. Just letting him feel like he made the choice or decision.

I so love the elderly with all my heart. I hope to work with them one day, even if its just an aid. Anyway, it's a hard role for you Chippers I know, but it will all fall into place, just don't be so hard on yourself, or put too much pressure on yourself.

Love you honey - lots of hugs to you and the whole Chipper gang :)

    Hi again,

Oh, there always is a silver lining to things. Mr. Allheart came running in the house (we still are close to knee deep in water down the basement), he said they scared the s*it out of me, I said what... he said go to the door and look

    Attachment 3282
Awwwww look who came to visit us on such a terrible weather day. And they even quaked at us. We gave them a little something to eat. But it just made my day to see them. They came right to our front door, as if to say, it isn't all that bad, life is still beautiful :) What a blessing and wanted to share it with all of you.

These little duckies are for Millie too - I know how she loves them as well :)

We have to name them. Well I better get back down the basement. Mr. Allheart is out buying a wetvac. Boy, do we have a mess downstairs, but still am so tickled at these little visitors.

Have a beautiful day everyone - many hugs.

Smile though your back is breaking….

Smile though the water that you were pumping out, was pumping back in through the window…

Smile, as you discovered this mess outside that the landscaper had moved the drain, which made the water that was pumping out, pump right back in 

Smile, as lay on the wet grass, laughing your arse off….

If you just smile :) Oh my God!!

And another I love Lucy episode at the Allheart home.

Hugs to Millie duckie and Simon duckie.

Thanks for all the positive encouragement. It really is welcomed with open arms. I did the right thing in giving dad some space. I know this because you all made perfect sense. He called me last night and I'll be going down to visit on Thursday -friday. He wants to go through my mom's clothes and give them to charity. He says having them around makes him do too much thinking. He'll be out looking for a part time job this week. He needs to keep busy and he can only go to the store so many tmes. He's been retired for a few years and now with my mom gone, he isn't doing what he did before.
I think were reacting this way because mom's passing was sooo unexpected. As dad says it came out of left field. She had no heart trouble. She stood up too fast, bared down and her heart stopped. Dad lives in Delaware and its hard keeping in touch with him. But as time passes, I'm relaxing more. I'm not pushing him to do anything. He needs to make decisions when he's ready. All I'm really concerned about is him getting his poa and life insurance changed around. I don't care whom he chooses as long as he does it.
Yes, allheart, we did get hit hard. The creek behind my house is cresting. Luckily we live on a smal hill. But the front damage to our house is minimal. The kids had a school delay but UI kept them home to be sure. The roads were flooded and I wasn't comfortable. A three day weekend never hurt anyone did it? Besure to get your house checked for mold after the water is pumped out. I've heard of it growing after a flood because some areas remain damp. Tell mr. allheart if he tries to take that pretty little head of your's I'll Give hima swirlly. I think you'd made a good aide but a better nurse. You have the comapssion for it. The elderly need that.
Mr. chippers went to play army today. He's out in helping people if the had to evacuate due to flooding.
CBW, with you swinging that banana I feel as safer with you than fort knoxx. No ones complained yet but if they do, I'll send them your way. If needed I have a basebal bat under my bed for cases like that.
As for dreaming of someone else's spouse. I'll also at fault for it. I've been dreaming about david james elliot from JAG and he's happily married as well. Ssssshhhhhhhh don't tell mr chippers.
I did dream once I was married to dog the bounty hunter and woke up screaming. Go figurer.

    Many hugs and warm afghands,

    Love
    chippers.

I'm starting to GET nasty today. My boss is on vacation, and everyone thinks that since she's not here to regulate workloads, that they can just dump all of their CRAP on the other admin assistant and I. I don't mind helping, but I don't have time to do my own job now!

Plus the phone is ringing off the hook with people who want it done RIGHT NOW, and when I can't get them in RIGHT NOW, they're being right nasty with me.

I think I'll go postal by the end of the day.

I'm just now starting to give estimates of when it will be done. Like... 2 weeks from now sounds good.

I walked in to a clean desk this morning, and now I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

2 of the managers decided to start projects this morning that need my help every 5 minutes (they now understand why I keep asking for a raise, though) since they don't understand our computer system. They ALSO now understand why I keep asking newer software, too!

I have a headache, and it's not even noon yet, and BOTH of our cars broke down this weekend, so I don't even get to go to lunch today, because I have no vehicle.

I just want to crawl under my desk and start crying. Or light a cigarette. Or both at the same time.

Oh Laura and Synnen - many hugs to you both. Monday are meant to be cranky. Laura, you just hang in there and get some good sleep tonight!!

Synnen - oh as Pops would say, they find the fast horse and race it to the ground. You do what you can. I know how you feel sweetheart and it does p you off big time. Just shut them out as much as you can. Otherwise, you try and do all this work while being in a ball of knots.

My Dear Chippers - Good call keeping the boys home today - it's just way to unpredictable out there. Huge thank you to Mr. Chippers for helping those folks out!!

Annnnnd Mr. Allheart did really well today. He went and got the wet/dry vac, we got all the water up - and then he realized that the rain drains (whatever the heck they are called) were not draining out correctly and probably caused most of the water in our basement. He went and got extensions for them and put them on. I am so proud of him. Mr. A is not much of the handy type - but he did so good today. See, he can do it, I think he just never had the confidence. His brother is a wiz at that kind of stuff and I think hubby just never pursued it too much thinking he couldn't. Any oh ways, he done real good.

Laura and Synnen - I hope today flies by fast for you both. Hang in there!
