With cocaine, most people experience financial ruin before it kills them. Reefer Madness is a no brainer (even though it does not agree with my system) - legalize it, and quit wasting the resources of law enforcement. I have yet to hear of anyone beating their spouse/GF to death after smoking a joint.

Meth, sounds like the number one drug in America (from what I have read),but from where I am Heroin is the one that is killing the spirit and soul of my community.
So many drug addicts and mostly youngsters, which ruins the whole family because the stealing, cheating and lying among the family adds to the already loss of physical health of the users.

I know, I'm late entering the thread, but I've been to countless substance abuse programs due to 2 DUI's in 2 different states along with possession. I know, shame on me :( But believe me, I've paid for my mistakes. And of all the drug and alcohol classes I've been to, each has taught that alcohol is the most dangerous and most deadly. (All these teachings exclude tobacco) That it takes less alcohol consumed at once to kill a person than any other drug taken at once. If that makes sense. Sometimes it's difficult for me to make sense of what I'm trying to say. Although, the meth epidemic is outrageous! It's spreading at an alarming rate. Anywoo, just thought I'd share :)

Addiction is addiction. To me it didn't matter what the name of the drug was that you gave me, I was just as desperate for it as the next. What addiction did was make me crave whatever I could get my hands on to make me feel different than how I felt. Meth was the worst though for me, as it took me to the gutters. Left my family, abandoned hope, sold everything I had including myself for the next high. Addiction does this to people. It's hard to look at someone in the grip of addiction and think of them as human, but they are people just like me and you. People who have crossed beyond reason into obsession. The hope is, you can come back though. Some never make it back.

Thank you, I have 7 years clean now. Got my kids back 6 1/2 years ago. Just graduated from BSU in May with a Bachelor's degree. My strength is in Jesus. If not for Him, I'd probably be dead.
