My boyfriend is by no means a drug user. He just received a call from a compay that he applied to about a year ago. It is an excellent opportunity for him. He is a CDL driver and we found out they do a urine and a hair follicle. Long story short he accidentally (yes that is true) took an Adderall 10 mg I believe, may have been a 20. Anyhow that will put him at 76-79 days out from when he took the pill and when he does the hair follicle. Also, he does from time to time take one of my Klonapins. Just like on a Friday when he knows he doesn't have to leave out again until a Monday evening. He gets worked up and anxious sometimes. Anyhow he has taken in the last 90 days maybe 3, at the most, 25 mg Klonapins. I am not sure if they are even testing for that. His urine will be fine. The last time he took a Klonapin was about a month ago. We are debating on trying to get scripts for him, but I am wondering if we are overly worrying and that isn't necessary and if we would even have time. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am thinking they will send the test off to Quest Diagnostics... that's the biggest in our area (Atlanta) that I know of. Concentra is where he is taking the test. Anyhow, I found this on the Quest website...

Nothing about benzodiazepines, they weren't listed on the hair follicle drug panel.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. We both already know he shouldn't take my pills. He feels terrible about this. Neither one of us were aware companies have started doing hair follicles.

And that is, at most, .25 mg Klonapins... not 25 mgs

The Adderall only has the most remote chance of showing. Basically zero, but never say never.
The Klonapin may or may not.
I wouldn't get a script. Not worth it if they don't want drivers taking it at all.

There are many factors involved in both the types of drug testing and the metabolism of the drug taker.
One kind of test only looks for presence; another looks for amount.

It sounds like the test is soon? All he can do is tell himself that there's nothing he can do. You cannot change your follicles with shampoos or peroxide any other products you may read about.

(PS - You didn't need to explain. It is what it is. NOBODY really believes ANYBODY's reasons. I took similar meds years ago and never will again, no matter what I'm going through. Pain, in my case.)

A hair test is meant to show consistent use over time. He didn't do enough Adderall to show up in any hair test. Most employer hair or urine tests don't test for benzos so I don't think the Klonapin will be an issue. For the most part my best guess is that he will be negative on all test.

I agree with mydogfifi. Hair follicle tests are for prolonged use. One pill isn't going to show up. As for the other med, there might be a small, very small chance that it would show up, because it is taken consistently, but my opinion is that he doesn't take it often enough for it to show up.

The urine, that's for recent use, not prolonged use. So if he hasn't taken any of these meds for at least a week, the urine should be clear.

Keep in mind, we can only guess. I've seen people that got drunk to the point of passing out that passed a urine test less than 24 hours later, and I've seen people that had no alcohol at all for months, that simply used hand sanitizer (which contains alcohol) fail.

I've seen people that smoke marijuana daily, pass a hair follicle test, and others that had one joint, fail.

It really all depends on the test, and the tester.

But based on what you wrote, he should be fine. :)

He actually went and had a hair follicle done Monday evening didn't tell me until today. He passed everything. They do not even check for benzo's on the hair follicle, only Marijuana, Cocaine, Meth, Opiates and PCP. That was what was advised to him at that lab and shows on his results. Also, I called the lab the company is going to send him to(we have 2 friends that work there) and they only have do same 5 panel hair follicle test there. I am a bit confused now though, it almost looks like the hair follicle can only detect Meth and not all amphetamines. IDK, just how it looks to me on the results. Amp is blank and Meth says NEG 500 pg/mg Final Result at bottom says NEGATIVE.
