    Lower Left Back Pain
I am a 21 year old woman, height/weight proportionate. No chance of pregnancy. Only health problems are Crohn's disease, my smoking (approx. 1 pack a day), and recurrent UTI's (have had I believe 3-4 in the past few months).

I googled the pain, and it brought me to kidney infection, but since all the UTI's I've had had strong symptoms (painful, difficult urination, etc.), I've ruled that as my urine is completely normal.

The pain has been coming and going for a few weeks now. It seems to happen when I try to stand up perfectly straight, or walking a certain way. It feels like a sharp, shooting pain to my left side, right above my buttock. I had my fiancé rub the area, and when he put pressure on it with his hands, it hurt - A LOT. And then he felt the same area on my right, and no pain whatsoever.

Any clues to what this could be? Any help would be appreciated!

    Sciatica?

Maybe it's time to see a doctor?

Can you explain further? Like what makes you think it's that? I always thought Sciatica was this serious back illness that caused pain 24/7

Sciatica can be mild to severe in its symptoms. I was just throwing out another possibility.

How about a disc problem, maybe a bulging disc?

    Doctor?
