    Local Disk (C:) Properties
When I click on my Local (C:) Properties and go to Tools, and then: check Automatically fix file system errors: I always get this message:
The disk check could not be performed because exclusive access to the drive could not be obtained. Do you want to schedule this disk ckeck to occur the next time you restart the computer?
I always hit the yes button but when I restart my computer the disk check never happens.
I am running Windows 2000 with Avant Browser.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

The best way to run that type of scan to automatically fix errors is to go to START, RUN, then type in CMD to enter a DOS prompt and type in: chkdsk /F which stands for check disk and fix all errors.

The system will again ask if you want to run the scan when the system restarts. Enter Y for yes and when you restart, the scan will then run properly.

My computer has started shutting off and rebooting when I am in the middle of
Something. What is causing this and can I fix it?
    Thank you.
