    Craftsman Snowblower
    Craftsman Snow blower 2 cycle engine sometimes starts with choke, Idles but with a sound like a miss fire, replaced plug no help, When it does start and choke is turned off engine seems to rev real high then stalls immediately, then won't start, also will stall immediately under Snow blower load. Any help or advice before I remove carb. :mad::mad::mad:

    It Reeves real high after you take choke off because now the extra air in the carb balances with the extra fuel and the perfect balance for a second Reeves the engine. 101 on rev. The idle misfire is too much fuel to air ratio in cylinders and the extra un burnt fuel and that's the "misfire" trying to get out of the engine. The engine "carb/cylinder is starving for fuel when choke is turned off. Before you tear the carb off I would drain all old gas and gas lines and yes new gas can be bad. Check the fuel filter in the tank or elsewhere (starving for fuel). With clean filter and I use High test gas and 2 cycle TC w 3 oil. Put in new gas. Try this and a least we are on a perfect start to carb. I don't know your model ect but 2 cycle carbs are carbs. See if there are any needle seat valve on the carb one is fuel and one is air. They may need adjusted. Before I explain that post me back. Newer carbs have one adjustment for air only for the EPA thing. The carb itself is basically simple there is a gasket that partially like a fuel pump and it a diaphragm set up.Most people dont realize that 2 cycle engine has no fuel pump or better said its half a fuel pump. The piston on a high rev 2 cycle is basically the fuel pump and the high compression position return sucks the diaphragm in the carb to pump fuel. If you had a brand new "fuel pump" and so so compressin the fuel pump won't work with worn piston rings even though you dump fuel in carb and it just burns out and engine stops.
    Try th fuel first. I have many of times just cleaned my diaphragm pump on carb and the motor works for now. And a new later

    Hi,
    I agree with what appears to be an air leak answer. I would guess you have a TC200 or TC300 engine and would additionally say that these are notorious for strange problems.
    My guess would be a hole in and/or brittle metering diaphragm.
