    Scab
I have a scab on my knee that keeps cracking each time I bend it, is it best to keep the scab covered up with cream on it (it goes soggie) or keep it dry and let it keep cracking?

Research has shown that it is better to keep wounds like this covered.

Even though it seems like a scab "heals" faster, in that it isn't weeping, it is not true. Scabs have a greater tendency to break and split, prolonging the healing time and increasing the possibility of a scar.

Better to keep it covered and use an antibiotic cream.

Lungie, when you get a wound or cut, you should always protect it with a dressing. A wound dressing gives it a better chance to heal without the risk of infection, abrasion or scarring. Also, you can wear knee pads to keep the scab from cracking. The scab will eventually fall off once healing is complete. ;)

Do put a dressing and medicine on it. It is vital to protect yourself from infection.
