I been together with my girl for 5 years we have 2 kids.. we broke up like about 4 months ago beacause we both couldn't forget about our past (cheating, lying, etc.) At first I was OK hanging out with friends and getting with other girls but now I really miss her and I want to get back with her. I asked her if she wanted to get back with me but she says we just going to have problems. She says she still loves me too but she just can't be with me anymore. She told me she's talking to other people already and it broke my heart. Should I just move on too? If so how do I speed up the process? Because I don't want to feel sad anymore.

You can't go back in time and right all the wrongs. All you can do is be the best father you can be to your children, and maintain a cordial relationship with your ex, for their sake.

It would be different if the two of you had agreed to try, and got into counselling to work through all the things in the past that broke you up, but it doesn't seem that that is going to happen sadly.

But that doesn't stop you from having a better relationship with someone in the future, if you've learned from your past mistakes.

You can't rush the healing but if you get busy doing the right things for yourself without her, you don't have to be sad about your loss for long.

There's no way to "speed up the progress" it will take time and it hurts at first best thing is not to dwell I know that sounds stupid but go out have fun and make sure you don't miss out on spending time with your kids show her you can be a good person and I'm sure she will come back if not at least remain civil for the kids
