    How to break an apartment lease in California
    I am moving to Las Vegas for a new job and need to break my lease of one year. I have lived in the apartment 4 of the 12 months.

    Hello l:

    There's no proper way to do it. If you want to do it with the least consequences for everybody, send him a certified letter telling him that you're going and offer him a couple months rent plus your deposit.

    He's obligated to find a tenant as soon as possible so your offer will probably stop him from suing you and damaging your credit. You aren't going to get away scott free from this. Is that what you think you can do?
