    I have signed a lease to move in in July now I decided I didn't want to move after all I already gave my deposit and 1st months rent is there anyway to get out of this? Thanks jodi

    Read your lease. It probably calls for at least 30 days notice to vacate. OR it could say you have to pay until such time as the landlord can re-lease the unit.

    Pretty much you have lost at least one month's reant.

    When you reread the lease I would be totally shocked if you found a 30 day notice clause. You will likely be held responsible for the rent until the unit is rerented plus advertising costs. Your unit will not be at the top of the managers list, he'll rent the vacant unit before yours.
