How to get my name on son's birth certificate?
How do I get my name added to my sons birth cert? I am his natural father and have a contact order in place which allows to spend time with him, have parental responshipibility pursued by myself through courts amd pay child support for him have had dna to establish that I am his father I have had contact with him since birth and love him to bits, but his mum still refuses my name to go on birth cert. Any help much appreciated.

Was the DNA Court-ordered? If so the change in the birth certificate have been automatic in the US.

You use the phrase "mum." Are you in the UK?

No the dna test was not ordered by the court. I arranged for it to be done along with help of my lawyer by a legally certified test centre. Yes I live in uk, but mother and child have since moved to ireland which is different jurisdiction from uk with different laws, so therefore makes things just a little more difficult for me. My son is 5 years old.thankyou for any help you can give.

    Of course... ;)
There are different legal terms which are used in the UK-Parental responsibility order/ that means legal custody/ , Contact order /that means visitation/ , and Residence order / that means physical custody/.

Have in mind that a man who has parental responsibility order and contact order in action may or may not be the legal father.

By the way if the OP went through the court system , then the birth certificate had to be re-registered automatically.
Here is a link to Irish procedures:

Another difference between England and USA-only court ordered tests are admissible in the USA, all tests are admissible in the UK.
    /performed by authorized centers/.
