Sour smell coming from the floor in a brand new house
We have a sour smell that seems to be coming from the floor in one of our rooms.
Our house is barely one year old and has a cement slab foundation. I actually noticed it about one month ago and have searched, cleaned and scrubbed, but have been unable to get rid of it.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks!

    Something dead, like a mouse...

The odor is more rotten than dead, but you may be right, as I've never experienced a dead mouse. If this is the case, it would be inside the wall correct?

Yes, I'd start with checking near the baseboards. Usually they are easy to remove without damage and can be put back on. If you damage them, they're not expensive to replace. If the walls are drywall, there is usually a 1/2"-1" gap between the concrete and the bottom of the drywall. Center on the area of the smell and you should find it if there's a dead critter in your wall.
