Can a notary from one state notarized documents from another state?
Yes. Some States, though, require an out-of-State Notary to attach a Certificate of Notarial Authority, a document from the County Clerk's Office that the Notary is in good standing. You would have to check on the other State's requirements.
You cannot, however - and I don't think this is your question - use your notary in another State. For example, if you live in Pennsylvania and I live in NY I can notarize your papers here, in NY, but I cannot notarize anything in Pennsylvania.
Understand?
Depending on what sort of documents need notarized sometimes it is best to go down to the local courthouse and have one of the clerks notarize them for you and attach the Certificate of Notorial Authority to the document. This way there is no guessing if the documents will be accepted in the other state.
