Is he biting in a playful manner? If so, when he bites in a sharp tone say "NO" and turn your back from him and walk away. He will soon realize that when he is biting and nipping he isn't getting attention from you, and choose another way to get your attention.

You can also give him something to chew on, like a toy or a bone.

By biting, do you mean playful nipping?

Or do you mean that the dog is biting when you have provided food? This would be considered food aggression, a form of dominant aggression and is a serious problem.
Or do you mean that the dog is biting when you touch him in certain parts of the body? Usually this is another form of dominant aggression and is also a serious problem.

Please let us know more about your dog and the circumstances which lead to this unwanted behaviour.
