    Impact of Jesus' death
What impact did the death of Jesus have on the world or Christian religion?

    Hi Peachy,

Simply put, it changed everything. It changed the course of history and opened the door to heaven giving us direct access to God. It was the ultimate, complete payment for sin for us - there is no more sacrifice for sin - and it demonstrated how much God loves us. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Even more important is the impact of his resurrection. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you" I Peter 1:3-4

You can't beat that if you ask me, and it's all available to us by faith because of Jesus' death and resurrection.

He has constructed a "bridge" between us, humans, and God's Heaven. Before Jesus sacrificed himself, human beings were bid to go to heavan, except the chosen ones. After his sacrifice, Jesus allowed us to go to heavan with only belief in his death, belief in his sacrifice, no more lamb killing and all that was needed. Whatever you are, whatever you have done, even if it was killing, faith in Jesus gives you a sort of a "one-way ticket" to heavan.
