I have a 5 month old blue heeler. We have a bell at the front door for him to notify us he needs outside. He uses this all day but at night he will go to the bell ring it and pee at the door. He will do this almost every night and every once in a while during the day. Some days we will not have one accident and then others he will go to the bell ring it and pee in the same spot over and over. We have tried reward for going outside, saying no loudly and taking him outside but nothing is working. He doesn't even smell he just pees. Please help!!

Dogs like schedules. It's nice that he knows how to ring the bell, but he isn't old enough to hold it in, and to wait for you, especially in the night. You should be letting him out at regular intervals on the clock, and he will 'know' what time it is very soon. Make the last out of the day just before you usually go to bed (regardless of when you do) and then put him in a crate or enclosed area near you for the night. He will enjoy the security of the space and sleep better too.

(I recently discovered that my elderly dog, who had started to pee in the night, likes to sleep in a box next to me. It's lightweight so I can carry it to where I am sitting or sleeping, and she now sleeps through the night.)

We take him out regularly but we will come in after he has used the restroom and pee in that spot within 10 minutes, he goes back out and will pee again a few minutes later. We have taken him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have an infection and they said he doesn't.

Is this puppy allowed free access to water? If so, that may be your issue. If your puppy is having a hard time controlling his bladder, then he may need to have supervised and timed drinking sessions.

By all means, do NOT deny your puppy water, but regulate it. Don't allow him free access to the water. I'm sure he is drinking a ton of water which in the end will make him need to pee more.

You could always check to make sure that he doesn't have a UTI, which will cause them to want to drink and pee more than usual. This is typically associated with frequent urination but small volume.

Your puppy is on a good path. Please also keep in mind that he is only 5 months old. Some dogs don't become house trained (to the point of being trusted) until a year or older. Just stay consistent in your training method and try not to get overly upset.
