Importance of chemistry in nursing?
I have moved your question from the Forum Help board to the Nursing board.
So, what about the importance of chemistry in nursing do you want to know?
Yes, chemistry is very important in nursing. You need to know the elements... K = Potassium for example... you need to know what can be "mixed" with potassium in order to keep a patient alive. You need to know what chemicals are in normal balance in a human body and when they are out of balance, i.e. too high or too low.
Chemistry is very important KCl for example Potassium Chloride, what is it and what does it do?
NaCl -> what is it and why is it important to the human body?
It along with a lot of other science will be very important.
What grade are you in ?
Your post was deleted by another supermoderator because Chemistry is important no matter whether you have an associates degree or a masters degree.
Many associate degree programs require chemistry as a prerequisite prior to being accepted into a nursing program. Granted it is just basic chemistry, but it is a requirement nonetheless.
Not in New York State. Chemistry as a prerequisite is NOT needed in New York State for a 2 year Associates Degree. It is however, needed as a prerequisite for a 4 year BS Degree and Masters Etc.
That was my advise and experience and I am 100% positive...
You can Google it.
If this post gets deleted again, then you are just being a BULLY J_9.
Look, I am not deleting your posts... the administrators are.
In NYS Chemistry may not be a requirement... but in other states it is. I am 100% positive as well... I had to take it, and pass, before being accepted.
Now... for some states one can take chemistry in high school with a passing grade in order to circumvent the system in college.
Ok well then , we BOTH gave accurate advise.
=)
Exactly! ;)
Whether it is a requirement in the locality that the OP is asking about, we don't have the answer to since we don't know where the OP is located.
However, from my experience thus far, and In my opinion, if it is not required, it is very beneficial.
