I am always amazed to see folks who have never done a shower from scratch but want to try. I do showers all of the time and prayer for home owners who want a fabricated pan because they are so easy to put in. If you must have a scratch pan try this link. How to Build a Shower Pan

You should look into the Schlouter pan system. Made of dense stryofoam that you can cut using a table saw.
Talk to a flooring company, big box stores will not have one of this quality or price. Big box stores will charge over $600, schlouter pan that I bought is 60x32 and was $90

I used a swanstone shower floor for my shower. I took the model number and ordered it through Home Depot. It turned out to be cheaper than ordering through Swanstone. I chose white to match the toilet and sink. The tiles can always be changed out by future homeowners. I am very happy with the swanstone shower base. It's been used everyday for 2 1/2 years and no problems with it.
