    Liquid food ideas?
Hi : ). I just had jaw surgery a week ago and I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas for food I can make that's drinkable through a straw. Mostly what I've been eating is ensure, drinkable yogurts and tomato soup--and I'm kind of getting tired of them : )... Also, if anyone knows of ways to help my swelling to go down that would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jen

    1. Swelling... ice the jaw (around the area of the surgery, not directly on top of the stitches) for roughly 10 - 15 minutes about 3 - 4 times a day.

    2. ensure's good... so is slimfast

    Milkshakes
    Mashed potatoes
    Fro yo
    Applesauce
    Pudding
    Jello
Baby food (actually pretty good... )

If you have a blender, you could potentially make veggie/fruit shakes.

    Potato soup.

Cream of celery soup, black pepper take some couscos and cook it or rice and add some American cheese, a can of tuna... break it a part so it is thin and chopped or just. It should be pretty drinkable and have a nice change of flavor and giv eyou pretty much energy... the left overs you may need to add milk when you reheat it.
