Dome light replacement on a 1997 Toyota Camry
How do I get into the dome light of my 1997 Toyota Camry CE to replace the bulb?

If it's like my Toyota vehicle, there is a notch on the lens at the edge. Insert a small flat blade screwdriver and pry gently.

If you use anything metallic to remove the bulb, then you could cause a short and pop the fuse. Just FYI

True. Be careful when removing bulb with metallic items. The lens should not be a problem.

First buy a couple of 3175 bulbs. This bulb is about an inch long tube with metal contacts at each end. I paid about 3 US dollars for a pack of two bulbs.

Sit in the middle of the backseat. The dome light will be right in front of you. On the right hand side you'll see a small notch for prying out the lens. Pop the lens out. And might as well turn the light switch off and close the door. Belt and suspenders you know.

The bulb only snaps into place but is recessed a bit. You can pop it out with a screwdriver but insulate the tip with electrical tape first. Snap the new bulb in. Look at the lens to see how it snaps in. Snap it in. Switch on.

    Bask in the light!

    An easy job.
