Do you have outlook or outlook express? The instructions would be different between the two products.

    • Click on the Mail Tab, then click Add Button
    • Select Mail
    • For Display Name, enter your name
    • Click Next and type your email address
    • Select Next
    • Leave POP3 in the drop down menu
    • enter: mail.comcast.net for incoming mail server
    • enter: smtp.comcast.net for outgoing mail server
    • Select Next
    • For Account name, enter what you login to the webmail site with
    • follow suit with password
    • select next/ok until you are done, and you should be ready

****Restart Outlook Express to check for errors in the email transmission (it will cause OE to attempt to login and transmit mail)

To pull your contacts/address book from comcast, you will need to export them from Comcast and then Import them into Outllook Express

    To Export Your Comcast Contacts

    • login to the webmail page
    • select preferences
    • select the address book tab
    • at the bottom, you should see an import/export section.
    • under export, ensure that the type is listed as outlook-unknown-csv and click export
    • select all address books or sections that you want to export and click ok
    • save the resulting contacts.csv file to your "my documents"

To Import This file to Outlook Express

    In Oulook Express
    • Click the Addresses Button at the top
    • Click Main Identity Contact In the Pane on the left
    • Click File|Import|Other Address Books
    • Select Text File (Comma Separated Values) and click Import
    • browse to your previously saved contacts.csv then select next
    • Map your fields (you'll have to do your best with this) and only select those fields you care to import.
    • when you are done, click the close button

You should now be able to use your contacts from outlook express

    Hope this helps

This should work for everything in your inbox.

I don't know if it will do the mail in folders.

Would strongly recommend that you move all "folder" stored email to your inbox in your comcast webmail and then recreate folders for them in outlook/outlook express.

    Hope this helps
