Well I know the names of some good hindi novels by famous indian authors. Some of them are : Godaan, Anandmath, Durgeshnandini, Tyaagpatra, Titli, Kankaal.

One of my favorite books of all time is "The God of Small Things" by Arudhati Roy.

She's also a social activist. Amazing personl

You can go for some of his creatures like Goli , Vaishali ki Nagarvadhu,Vayam Rakshamah ,Narmedh etc..
