Noobie here - so please forgive basic ?'s.

My Lennox Air conditioner will not turn on. When I switch the thermostat to cool and fan to on nothing happens. Can anyone suggest how to begin to diagnose the problem?

Is there anything, such as a switch located in the furnace area that would "switch" the air conditioner off. We had a furnace guy in to check out our faulty lennox furnace, and I seem to remember him saying "well, we don't that, so lets switch it off". I do not remember what he was referring to though as it was last winter.

Amy assistance would be appreciated.

Check the circuit breaker in the house main panel. Check the furnace disconnect located on furnace or wall.

Where would I find the furnace disconnect switch or are you referring to the main power to the furnace. The furnace is on and running just fine, ergo the circuit breaker is fine too.

If the furnace is on and running the switch is OK.
