    If you've had sex, you're not a virgin.

    The definition of virginity as the presence of a hymen is a legal -like technicality ; the lines are blurred sometimes, for example, girls who get fingered, who have dildoes inserted but not a penis (are they virgins?) etc; like all human concepts, virginity is not clear;

    There are girls who get their hymen surgically reattached; it's a popular surgery in countries where groom's families demand a gynecologist inspect the bride to ensure virginity; they cost a lot of money; are those girls virgins?

    Some girls lose their hymens because they are atletic as children; you can rip it pretty easily as a kid; depends how strong it is; mine was almost gone by the time I had sex; maybe yours was too;

    But if you've had sex, I don't think you're in the blurry zone; you're not a virgin;

    Do YOU think you're a virgin? Do you FEEL like a virgin?

    Plain and simple... " had sex = not a virgin".

    Hymen being intact or not really is no indication for a number of reasons.

    The definition of losing virginity is to have penille insertion into the vagina. Which is also the definition of sexual intercourse. Whether the hymen is intact or not is a side issue. If some guy stuck it in, you lost your virginity.

    Sorry... I don't like parsing words. If someone has to stretch words to their breaking point to hide the basic truths, that's a sign they really aren't.

    Like If someone has given head to 50 men and had anal intersourse with them all. I don't think they have the right to call themselves virgin just because there remains one unviolated orifice on their body.

    This isn't a place that burns brides alive because they weren't a virgin. Yeah there are a few backward cultures that might still condone this, but for the most part if it meant that much to them, they should have avoided sex until then. It really means little to most people and most cultures. Why not just be honest about it.

    Hello again:

    Most little girls have held a penis in their hand. They're still virgins. Holding a penis in your hand doesn't remove one's virginity, even if the penis is hard and about to erupt.

    Talk about PARSING.

    OH god.

    Okay, this is how this works.

    Everyone gets ONE post to defend their position on this. I'm NOT moderating yet ANOTHER argument about who gets to call themselves a virgin when everyone seems to have a different definition, and many of those definitions vary from the dictionary definition.

    So---No arguing about it. There have been countless other posts about this where people got to discuss it. If you want a discussion on the changing definitions of sexual terms, that's different entirely---start your OWN post about it.

    When did just holding a penis become sex? Stroking it however is something else. Just like holding a closed hand on someone's face does not make it battery.

    Is a rapist guilty of a sex crime if they didn't have vaginal pentration, Or a child molester be guilty of a sex crime without vaginal penitration of the child? Then those are parsing the word also.

    Besides... the term "sexually experienced virgin" is an oxy-moron.

    Would a female that has performed anal gang bangs in a series of porn films be rightful in her assertion to be a virgin just because she never had vaginal intercourse?

    Would you be upset to find out a woman to whom you married lied to you about being a virgin that wanted to wait until marriage to "Lose her virginity" have lied to you if you later discover she was that porn star?

    Sorry but someone that believe if you want that you can have oral and anal sex with dozens of people and still think you can say you are a virgin with a straight face to your priest in confession, or your soon to be spouse, makes them a liar.

    Personally I couldn't care less if a woman is a virgin or not as long as she was honest about it.

    And I consider a woman who has had any form of sex a liar if she claims to be a virgin as do a LOT of people. If you had sex be honest about it. Don't hide behind the title "virgin".

    We've had this discussion before and most of us believe what it has always meant and others well, don't for their own reasons.

    Hello smoothy:

    While your argument has merits, I think the example you use is out to lunch. I have never met, nor do I believe such a female exists, who values her virginity sooo much, and to the degree that she'll take it up the butt (numerous times and with different people), and put it in her mouth (again, numerous times), all this to fool somebody (or herself) into thinking she's a virgin.

    I cannot imagine such a person. I don't think they exist.

    I DO think there are women who experiment with sex, WITHOUT going all the way. I think they're virgins, until they go all the way. I think MOST women fall into this category. I'll stick will calling them virgins BEFORE they go all the way.

    Ok, I'll even give you, that this woman you describe, if her experimenting includes lots of anal sex with multiple partners, and blow jobs aplenty, this woman is a VERY slutty virgin. But, like I said, I don't think there's many like her. I AIN'T going to say there's none.

    Actually they do exist, women who will do either oral or anal and avoid vaginal intercourse so in their mind they can pretend to be a virgin. I knew a couple growing up, but many are from Cultures that do hold that high a value on the entact hymen. Of course they are also from Cultures that have arrainged marriages. I know this FROM women in those cultures that me and my wife have talked with who are friends. Some of them even went so far as have their Hymen surgically repaired before they got married. I'm not making this up.

    I don't know how common the practice really is but like I said, if I know that many statistically there are a lot more out there.

    The porn star thing was a theoretical example. I don't know if there actually ever was any like that or not for certain. It was to stress a point.

    Closed.
