I have a 10 HP Craftsman lawn tractor that will not move. The clutch works and it goes into gearbut the flat wheel spins and the gear wheel seems too have not enough pressure on it to move. Could this be just a loose drive belt?
Thanks, Charlie

Yes it sounds like a worn out belt. How old is the belt?
Thanks I'll check it, I think it is probably the original belt.
I think I found the problem, there is a spring that moves a small pulley when the tractor is in gear, but one end of the spring is broken, and I don't know where it wouls attach to create the tension on the drive belt. Any help?
Charlie
Can't think of where it would go myself... it wouldn't be far though, and would probably (after some age) wear a little where it was connected to.
