    Sick golden retriever
    Hi!

I have a 3 year old female golden retriever she seems to be ill and I am not sure what is wrong. She is an outdoor dog. She has been acting strange for about a day or two. She does not want to eat, is thirsty but vomits soon afterward. She looks sad and doesn't want to be alone. Mostly she will just stand and not move. She is normally very active but is very tired. Her eyes are slightly red and glossy. If you have any idea's please let me know.

Take her to a Vet. If she won't eat, drinks and can't hold the water down she needs to see a medical professional.

If she's an outdoor dog you don't have the close watch over her that you would have with an indoor dog and it could be just about anything and she could have ingested just about anything.

I have asked that this be moved to the dog forum.

You need to get her to a vet ASAP. As Judy said above, since she is an outside dog, you just don't know what she could have consumed. If she is not eating, vomiting after drinking, and is lethargic, it could be a range of things. She could have gotten into poison, or many other things that could have made her sick. Is she up to date on her shots? This sounds like the classic symptoms of Parvo. Even if she has had her Parvovirus shots, it doesn't make her completely immune. Is it possible she could have come into contact with a dog that hasn't had it's shots?. or even in proximity to an area where there could have been a dog with the disease? It could be something else entirely, but the bottom line is that you NEED to get her into the vet. Dogs can go downhill very quickly if they are showing these physical symptoms.
