    Toilet not flushing completely
My upstairs toilet is having a difficult time flushing completely. It started after I used the restroom and at first look liked it was backed up. Now all it does is fill up almost to the point is going to overflow and the slowly drains. BTW the house that I live in is not even a year old. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mike

If the bowl fills up all the way to the rim after you flush it - than it indicates there is a blockage within the toilet bowl. Use 5' auger snake and snake it well. Sometimes, you can even unclog it with plunger.

If this has been an issue since day one then it's probably an installation problem, perhaps the wax doughnut is not positioned right.

If this is a new problem then I would agree with Milo, perhaps something was flushed that shouldn't have been and it needs to be auged out or you'll have to dismantle the system to find and remove it if auging doesn't work.

Sounds like a recent problem just started by you. Start with a plunger and it's the up stroke not the down stroke that really clears the line. If that fails come back and we will walk you though the next step.

I agree with above statements. Plunge the heck out of that thing, and if that doesn't work, use a closet auger to snake the toilet. If that still doesn't work, you will have to pull the toilet and get a bigger snake and snake the drain through the closet flange. If you use a closet auger and can't get it all the way through the toilet, you can pull the toilet and try running the auger up from the bottom of the toilet.
