Starby, you will never be forgotten
As some of you have already heard our Starby passed away this morning.

She fought long and hard, beat a lot of odds, but she lost the fight.

She touched so many of us here. So many times in the middle of the night, when I couldn't sleep, she'd keep me company.

We talked every day on the phone. Her sweet laugh, her voice, he humor and her love, I'll never forget.

So tell us a story about her, something your remember, one of your favorite posts, a poem, whatever you want. Let's keep her memory alive.

Starby, as long as I live I will never forget you. We will meet again, this I promise you. Watch us, laugh with us, enjoy the peace you have finally found.

    Attachment 23496

    Rest in Peace Starby.

I was a bit stunned when I read it in the other thread but after seeing the photo of her the tears came.

We love you Jo, you will be missed.

A friend is like a flower,
    a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
    that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
    both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
    whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes
    strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend. - By Emma Guest

Memory Can Tell Us Only What We Were
    By Richard Fife

Memory can tell us only what we were,
    In company with those we loved;
It cannot help us find out what each of us,
    Alone, must now become.
    Yet, no person is really alone;
Those who live no more still echo
    Within our thoughts and words,
And what they did has become
    Woven into what we are.

    Friends Until The End

    We used to talk
    We used to laugh
    We were best of friends
I thought that's how it would always be
    You taught me so much
Told me exactly what to say
I wish it were still the same
But someday I know it will
    Maybe not today
    But we'll meet up again
It won't be long until I see your face
    In Heaven that marvellous day

    Confessions Of A Broken Heart

    Pain... Tension... Fatigue...
    Depression...
    Anger, Aggression, Frustration.
    All these unwanted sensations -
    Burning, hurting, tearing.
My heart alone, cold and fearing.
Why won't you let me sleep, let me rest,
    Let me forget
To eradicate, eliminate, destroy all my regrets?
    These memories inside, swirling, twirling,
Unwilling to reside in the corner of my mind.
    Repeating, resisting, insisting -
Refusing to be denied its recognition
    Of its position in my
    Frustration, Confusion, Delusion.
Ah, to close my eyes and let time fly by,
Because there's so much to gain
By forgetting these dreams driving me insane.
    Unfocused, unclear, out of control,
    My world spinning, spinning, spinning,
My sanity flying through the door.
My reason, my logic, oh, it's tragic,
Like fine sands running through my hands,
    I'm losing my mind.

Thank you all for posting. She'd be tickled pink.

For those of you that didn't know her well, she used to be a florist. She loved her flowers, absolutely loved them, and knew so much about them.

I don't even know the difference between a tea rose and a regular rose. Is there a regular rose? She'd be laughing at that.

So in honor of her love for flowers.

Thanks, wouldn't it be nice if heaven is an individual thing for each of us. Each would be forever in a heaven that was built for us personally and we could spend eternity there with all our loved ones. If that would be true then Jo would be tending her flowers and listening to everything we say here... as I think that this would also be part of her heaven. :)

    There's a book I read a while back;

The Lovely Bones - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you ever get a chance to read it, it's worth a read.

    It's sad, but so powerful.

The author believes that we each have a personal heaven. We only have to wish for something to have it.

I believe Jo is in her field of flowers, tending to them and all the dogs whose masters have yet to join them. The longer she's there the more elaborate her heaven will be. The flowers there will rival anything we have on earth.

I never claimed to be a poet.

    For Starby.

I have no words, only tears, but those are just for me.
I have to smile, for you're at peace, and that's how it should be.
You fought so hard, against all odds, our ducky, friend, our love.
Now you're at rest, your soul has flown to paradise above.

    From Alty.

Lovely Bones gave me great peace when my husband died - it's a good read, no matter what your beliefs are.

I have to go for now.

I'm trying to figure out a way to get a card, have everyone sign it, or write something in it, and then send it to her family.

    Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is for everyone to write something here and I'll write it on the card.

So, if you want to write something for her family, post it here and I'll make sure they get it.

No space restriction, I'll print out pages and pages if I have to. :)

    Love to all.

    I have an idea hon.

If we all use the paint program on our computers.

Sign on there and a note

Then you can paste it all together and print it out :)

I wasn't lucky enough to have known her, but being on the outside looking in, I see that she touched so many hearts and lives with love. I can only dream of having that quality. May GOD bless her soul, and may GOD bless you all. This particular angel finally got her wings.

I know she suffered so much. GOD has seen that she is at peace. Don't feel sorry for her, envy her. She is happy now, looking down at you all with love.

I'm sure she knew how much you all cared for, and loved her. I can see it from Georgia.
