1 to 3 weeks pregnant according to a blood test but I think I should be 5 weeks?
Hello I am 21 years old and recently I took 3 at home pregnancy tests all came up positive instantly. So I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy and he did a urine and blood test both positive... my question is my blood test showed that I was 1 to 3 weeks pregnant. And that doesn't make sense because my last period was 5 weeks ago also I'm showing a lot of symptoms like hardened lower stomach painful nipples, extream moodswings, increased appitite, fatigue. I don't understand why would my hcg levels not match up with my last period I'm worried I don't want anything to go wrong this is a WANTED pregnancy. Pleaz help

Conception most likely happened 3 weeks ago. You said that your last period was 5 weeks ago. Well, you likely ovulated within 2 weeks after your period, as the majority of women do.

When we count the 40 weeks of pregnancy we count from the last menstrual cycle. Gestation isn't actually for 40 weeks, it's for 38.

So, if you go by the 40 week calendar you're 5 weeks along, but in reality you only conceived 3 weeks ago.

I hope I explained that well enough. Hopefully our labor and delivery nurse or our doula will come along and explain it a bit better then I just did. :)

Most Doctors start counting your due date by your LMP. But With a blood test they can pin point ovulation a little bit better. Most ovulate around 2 weeks before your next period, 2 weeks after your last.

That's why it says 1-3 weeks
