What type of mixing valve do you have? One handled or two or three knobs? What's the brand name? How old? Is it hot or cold that leaks out? Let's have more details. Tom

2 handles, hot and cold. The hot is the one I'm having a problem with. Don't know the age, I'm guessing it's pretty old.

I'm putting up a three handle mixing valve. Ignore the middle diverter knob and you'll have your mixing valve. Shut the water off and remove the hot water stem and washer assembly. Replace the washer. Now run a finger nail around the seat to check for nicks or rough spots. If you find any the seat must be replaced as well. If the hot side went well it's a good idea to replace the cold side washer as well. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom

It is hard to find the old Sayco diverter stem, go to Lowe's they carry Sayco faucet stems, open the link below and you will see the kit it takes 2 O rings and one washer if one Oring is missing you will have this problem' Thanks.
