    Kitchen disposal
I have a leaky disposal and it is leaking in 2 spots. We would like to replace the disposal. Is this something that can easily be done we do have a dishwasher also that goes into the disposal. I would appreciate your input and also any suggestions that you may have.

    Thanks Busymomof3

Technically it is very easy - and the directions that come with them are easy to follow and self explanitory.

Just one thing: They're heavy - and it's sometimes difficult to hold it up and attach it to the sink while on your back... so have someone standing by to give a hand.

    And easy job, really. ;)

    Hi Mom,

To save whoever installs the new unit a hassle, ( unless you have good muscles get a guy in to do it) try to buy the same brand and model. That way you can use the old drain and mounting assembly and just snap the new unit in. Don't forget to knock out the plug in the disposals dishwasher drain opening before you connect the dishwasher hose. Good luck, Tom
