Looking4answers :: Your main sewer line is most likely stopped up , the reason it backs up into the tub shower is because the drain is ("T") into main sewer line the camode. The main sewer line will have to be snaked out ,and hope that does it , some times you have to use what is called a rooterroto. Sometimes you can open with a snake ,going down the vent up on the roof. Ihave had to pull the camode and go in that way with the snake. Remember if you pull the camode you will have to put a new wax ring and maybe a new anchor bolt set .On the wax ring I like the one with a boot. Have a good day .::: hope I've helped you . By the way I meant to mention that if you are not exper. In this area ,I'd call a local plumber .

Another way would be to remove the chrome tub waste/ trip lever and snake through the trap. Good luck, Tom
