We just got a new Bosch 500 series washer -- up until today it has been working fine (for the five days that we have had it!). Today I had an E 02 error message on it. There is no hot water coming into the machine at the tap.

We have taken off the hose and no hot water is coming in through the valve. We do have hot water everywhere else in the house. The weather is colder here today than it has been (but it's not even below 0) and the water pipes are on an exterior wall; however, we have never had any trouble like this before.

We have a space heater running on it now, but so far, no luck. Could this be anything else besides frozen pipes?

Any other ideas?

Disconnect the suplly hose from the back to see if you have a hot water flow in the supply hose. Back to you.

OK -- forgive me if I ask stupid questions -- hubby gone right now and I'm not an expert in plumbing lingo.

We did disconnect hose from back of washer to hot water valve. No water comes out of valve (and the obvious question -- yes the water valve is turned on -- not right at the moment in case pipes thaw if that's the problem)

Don't aplogize, if we talk over your head just tell us and we'll talk homeowner. I misunderstood which valve you meant. So the hoes that comes from the wall to the machine is disconnected from the machine and no water flows, right. There is always a valve right at the wall and you are certain it is open all the way, correct. You were very wise to reclose the valve because it could undreeze abd I'd guess that's your problem, frozed supply pipe in the wall. The space heater , if its frozen, can take many hours because the temps are dropping as we speak. 11 below in Chicago and getting colder. Where are you? If the pipe does not unfreeze by bed time you should close off you main supply valve coming into the home before going to bed. During the night the ice could melt and it may have cracked the pipe. The pipe doesn't leak now because its still frozen. Kepp the heater on all night at a safe distance directed at the wall. In the morning slowly open your main valve, likely in the basement on the street side of the long wall. Tell me tomorrow if the water is running or if you have a leak inside the wall.

We're in NW Kansas. Hubby home and still working on thawing, if that's the problem. We'll update you on progress!

Kepp the main closed tonight to protect from a thaw in the middle of the night and a broken pipe. Nippy in KS tonight.
