I have a dishwasher that has water collecting in the bottom when not in use.
The dishwasher works normally, runs through the cycles and drains. When the dishwasher is not used for a few days, waterappears in the bottom. The water has an dirty water odor. There is a disposal and is used dailly. What could be causing the water to appear.
    Thanks

The dishwater drain is connected to the garbage disposal, check and make sure the hose is not cracked or have a hole in it. Also see if the hose connectors are tight.

Make sure the gasket screws are tight and the gasket is still good on the garbage disposal where the hose connects to it from the dish washer.

    Hi Conchfever...

I'm wondering if the drain hose coming from the dishwasher and connecting to the disposal has dropped and is no longer LOOPED up high under the sink before dropping down into the drain?

If the hose isn't looped high enough it will allow water from your sink to drain back down the hose by gravity and into the dishwasher. Check the hose and secure it up high toward the sink so it is higher than where it connects to the plumbing... then allow it to drop back down and connect to the plumbing (see images). Hopefully, that is all that is needed to fix this.

    Let me know.. OK?
