Shower diverter leaks into tub when turned to shower
I'm trying to replace my shower diverter valve since it leaks into the tub significantly when turned to the shower. It's a 3-knob system (hot, diverter, cold) and I don't know the brand.

I've gotten the knob off, the surrounding piece off, and one nut off, but I'm not sure what to take off next to get the valve out. (The step after that will be to go to the hardware store to find an identical replacement.)

Here's a photo if anyone can recognize it and help me out.

    Thanks!

Well, after fiddling with it gently, it turns out that the next set of threads are just inside the wall. I kept turning on the next nut and it came out.

Don't forget to check the seat when you have the valve apart. If it's nicked or vhas rough edges then it must be replaced. Good luck, Tom
