Mobile home drain needs to be moved
My big tub/shower leaked and ruined the floor. We took out all of the junk. I want to install a shower but I need to move the drain. There is a pipe with a vent and the drain sticking out of the floor. It was hiding in the space under the tub. How do I move the drain about a foot and still have it work properly? Please help ASAP.

    Hi Jean,

Back in the 70's I worked in mobile home factorys installing plumbing.
I'm assuming this will be a manufactured shower enclosure and not a custom tile one. First you must get the measurment of where the shower base drain will set and drill a hole through the floor. Then you open up the undercoat and sub floor and cut out the trap put and move it directly under the hole you have cut out. Bring the trap raiser up to where you can glue on the shower drain, patch the subfloor and you're back in business. Good luck, Tom
