My bathroom sink has push/pull pvc type shutoff valves with the hoses factory crimped on. The hoses are leaking at the crimp. Can the hoses be cut and replace the crimps with hose clamps or do I need to replace the calve.
If the valve has to be replaced, Is it threaded or glued on? It is so close to the wall I can't tell myself.

Pretty sure this is not a firearms question but I will take a shot. :) Lets get something cleared up in my head first please. Are vwe talking about shut offs under the sink or is this you faucet on top of the sink

By the description I think these are shut off valves under the sink and I'm pretty sure that these shut off valves are simply PUSHED onto the pipe, but can't be sure without seeing them... ;) Do your shutoffs look like my picture below?

If so, to remove them you can shut off the water supply and then try spinning them while pulling them forward to remove. If that fails then you can take a pair of pliers and crush the plastic to expose the inards of the shutoff and then remove the crimp ring. Be careful not to damage the pipe underneath.

Then you can install a new 5/8" compression shutoff!
