How to get rid of wheat bugs
I am finding small black bugs in my flour and other dry goods e.g. cereal, gravy mixes, pasta. They even get into sealed plastic containers. The bugs are very small, smaller than a rice kernel. I have cleaned and sprayed inside of the cabinets. This has helped but has not completely done the job. HELP!

I used to have the ones that turned into small flies. Just got rid of absolutely everything and started keeping my dry goods in the refrigerator.I haven't seen any in a number of years now.

    Rivethead

We had the same a few years back. I think they arrived in whole grain flour that we purchased. We threw everything open away and all the cereal/pasta open or not. We now freeze all our flour when it comes in the house - which will kill any larva. Once it's been frozen for a few days I do store it in the pantry in plastic containers. No problems since.

Sounds like one of half a dozen stored product beetles. Rivethead is right, go through everything including dog treats and birdseed. Any vegetable product can become infested by these things. Get rid of everything infested, then clean, then go to sealed plastic containers. I'm more fond of the zippered plastic bags than the "tupperware" type containers, but that's just a personal preference.

Do they look anything like these?

Are you certain of the I.D. More often widespread infestations can be from Carpet beetles

There's a link to instructions on getting rid of them at the top of the page. Look at the other link, too.

CATSMINE: they look like the image of the drug store beetle you posted.

They began to show up in the kitchen matching the description of location as the "granary weevil" or "wheat bug" I got rid of them in the kitchen by throwing out infested foods and sealing up new foods in plastic bags etc.

A month later I see them in my living room then my bathroom and now my BEDROOM! Eww!! I don't understand because there is no food in the other areas. Yes I snack in the living room and my bedroom but never in my bathroom. They must like something else.

It is the same bug, I double checked. I don't see the links above to get ride of them. What could they possible be after that is in my kitchen, living room, bathroom AND bedroom? Thank you for your assistance! I really appreciate it!

For some reason the Yahoo links aren't working for me from the image page, either.
