How long can a deceased loved one follow us around?
I have a long story but I'll try to make it short.. yeah right. Anyway, my husband passed away after a very very short about with cancer almost 13 years ago. We had just had a baby when my husband got sick and my son was 3 months old when my husband passed away. Ever since the day he died countless freaky paranormal things have been happening. It doesn't matter where I live. It started in New Jersey and followed me to Arizona. I should say he followed me. I can't begin to tell you everything that's gone in in this house. From homework being thrown off the table, doors slamming shut, someone breathing in our ears, sheets being pulled off us, dishes flying around, spices flying out of the pantry, things always falling off the walls, footsteps upstairs when no one's there, things constantly falling off shelves in the garage, the phone ringing on the day and time of his death and someone asking to speak to him, he gets mail here all the time,we see black shadows fly across the room, my son sees someone at the foot of his bed, I can go on and on. We've had five different paranormal groups out to our home and they come in cold, not knowing anything that's going on. They all say the same thing.. it's him. He misses you and his son. He's checking up on you both. I'm in a relationship and we're all tired of being scared to death all the time. Does anyone have an idea of how long this is going to go on. I miss him and will always love him too, but I have to go on and live my life.

Yes, he does love and miss you. May I suggest that you go to a quiet place in your home and speak quietly to him telling him that you love him, miss him as well, and that you are trying to make a life with someone else as he is gone. This might take you a few times to make some kind of contact with him, but you will make contact with him as he is probably around you a lot. You need to ask him to continue to look over you and your son but in a more friendlier manner with no overt throwing of things.

I have several late friends of my son's who come to our home a lot. There are about 4 men total. Also my late husband comes around. I hear distinct voices and so does my son at times when we are at opposite ends of the house. We have things disappear and then reappear days or weeks later or not at all. At times my rosary smells like expensive sandalwood oil and we don't have any sandalwood oil in the house. We smell distinct Italian cooking that my son's chef friend used to make and there is nothing cooking on the stove. Smells that are pleasant.

Have you had any dreams where your husband comes to you and speaks to you? Or when you do dream of him you can't quite remember the dream but know he was in it?

He is definitely feeling that his work here is not done and he needs to protect you and your son. Don't deny him this, please. He still loves you and may not know he's supposed to go on. He may not want to go on right now but stay in this realm. Sometimes the person knows they are dead but they don't want to go on. There could be many reasons for his staying around. Please don't try to discourage him but talk to him as if he is sitting in a chair beside you. He will hear you. He is just in a different dimension than you are in right now. The fact also that he can move objects tells me that he was a very strong individual in life, strong in will that is.

Hi. I think that your husband might be a little jealous of your new relationship. Not that you're doing anything wrong but he must be frustrated on the other side not being able to be with you and his boy, or to touch you both. His love for you will still be strong and yours will be for him but with him doing things that seem angry toward you, this is scaring you. You must talk to him out loud as one other member suggested. Even ask him to talk to you through your dreams to tell you what he wants to say to get to you through your subconscious. You will find that things die down eventually if you tell him that you have not forgotton him. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Thank you to both of you for your answers. I think of him all the time even though I've been with my boyfriend for over ten years now. We asked psychics if he's angry that I'm with someone else and they all say he's happy that I'm happy. He's glad my boyfriend is taking care of his son while he's not there anymore. The night he died I went home from the hospital early and the doctor's called at 1:41 am to tell me he died. I feeel like he's been trying to tell me something for the last 12 years. We do try and talk to him... when we ask questions we get bangs on the wall or the headboard as a response. We've even had "ghostsweepers" come to the home to try and get rid of whatever is here and they say it's my mother in law and my husband, she passed away while I was pregnant and never got to see my son. Anyway, this is my "new" life and I guess I have to accept it because he's just as persistent in death as he was in life!

Hi Tony. I'm glad your happy and you accept what is happening. I'd think of I as a comfort more than a hindrance. I'd love to keep in touch but I don't know if you can on this site. There is no contact info or ways of getting in touch only through these messages.

I do agree with the fact that your husband is around to protect you, and as for things being thrown around only two types of spirits can do that a poltergeist and a demonic entity, remember not all psychics are real some only tell you what you want to here, now I don't advise you doing this but if you want to talk to your husband try using a ouiga board, however make sure you know how to use one right, things tend to go down south if you don't know what your doing.

Thanks for your answer freaked out. I've been told by the paranormal investigators that I can be making these things happen. Like telekinesis or something. They say I want things to happen, therefore they do,no I don't. We're all tired of being frightened all the time. As far as a ouiga board, I think I'd be afraid to use one of those. I hear you shouldn't play with them. Have you ever used one? I'm a big chicken.. NY toughie on the outside and mushy melted ice cream on the inside.

I have used a ouiga board and I advise against it this is what originally got me into the field of paranormal.about the ghost I've heard of peopl just yelling at the tops of their lungs to go away but I don't know if it works it's just a rumor
