I have found a nickel colored penny not copper and was wondering if anyone could help me with finding out if there is a value to it besides being worth one cent?

Look at the date. If it's dated 1943 it was made with steel in order to conserve copper for the war effort. I have a few of these in my collection, but haven't done any research to find out their value.
The date on the penny is 1977 D and I am very perplexed because all pennies are made of copper. Does anyone know anything about such pennies?
I'm wondering if maybe it sat in some water for a long period, and that gave it the nickel look to it.
