    Ontario Canada-Debt after death
Do the laws in Ontario require the children to be accountable to repay their parent's debts after their parent's death? If so, what steps can one take to protect themselves from incurring large debts owed by their parents?

Parents have no assets. Children provided and paid for their housing care.

    Thank you

Under Ontario Canada law are children responsible for a deceased parent's debts?

    Please don't post twice.

What specific debts? Charge cards, mortgage, medical bills? If charge cards, whose name is on the cards, who has used them?

    Need more info.

Deceased parent's name only on all debts.

Depending on the debts - medical bills are different from charge accounts - these are estate debts.
