    Corian finish is dull
I recently had Corian counters installed in my kitchen. The contractor said it would be finished with 250 grit. The counters seem dull and when viewed at an angle, they show faint sanding lines. Water does not wipe up easily but remains on the counter as a thin film or small pools that dry and leave hard water marks. Is a 250 grit finish the standard for Corian? Should I call my contractor and ask him to refinish?

Normally contractors know what they are doing but not this time. 250 is great if you are redoing a dining room table but not Corian. Tell him to get himself back to your home and biff the Corian with a slurry compound.

Corian is made by DuPont. Fabricators are certified and the product has an extensive warranty. Fabrication & maintenance procedures are clearly defined by DuPont. First question > Is this material Corian or another solid surface material? Bring the contractor back to perform this task properly.
